Peer Pressure No. 1
,

Peer pressure.
It's an interesting paradox. People normally say it's bad because it can influence us to things that we would never do. But, we must ask the question; is it always bad?
If we think about it, it can be both bad and good. The bad comes from your friends telling you to do something that you consider to be against your foundational moral beliefs. The good is when the influence is either harmless or beneficial. Like your friends telling you that a certain food is great, and you don;t really want to try it, but they end up getting you to eat it and it turns out to be your new favorite thing to eat.
So we won't spend any time talking about good peer pressure because I think you guys get the picture in regards to that. But what do we do with bad peer pressure? How do we even know when it's bad? How can we fix it? What if we like the affects of it and don't want to change? What if you don't think that you're being influenced by people, but your parents tell you that you are? So many questions...
Maybe we should do this one question at a time...
OK, first question; what do we do with bad peer pressure? Well, it should start where you make your friends, because int the end, it will be them who influence you the most.
James 4:4 says: ...Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. If we have friends that are worldly, they can influence you easily against the principles of God. That's scary! I'm not saying it's wrong to have even slight friendships with worldly people, I'm saying that having a friendship that puts you in a position where you are easily influenced is very dangerous. If you do have any friendships like that, then make sure that you have your guard up, and that they are the ones being influenced, not you.
Ok, so that's all for this blog. I will discuss all the questions i have posed here in separate blogs so that it is easier for you guys to read. If you have ANY comments, questions or things you want to say, please comment them and I'll address them as much as i can.
God bless...
